What’s New:
- Number of Answer Options: Candidates will now have five answer options instead of four.
- 5th Option Purpose: The first four options will correspond to the question, and the 5th option is specifically for unanswered questions (Question Not Attempted).
- Selecting 5th Option: If a candidate chooses not to select any of the first four options, they must choose the 5th option to indicate that they have decided not to attempt that particular question.
- Negative Marking: Failing to select at least one of the five options for over 10 percent of the questions will result in negative marking and possible disqualification.
- Time Extension: An additional 10 minutes will be provided to consider and select the fifth option thoughtfully.
Exam Procedure:
- Candidates are required to use a blue ballpoint pen to fill one of the five options (A, B, C, D, or E) on the OMR sheet.
- If a candidate leaves a question unanswered, they must select the fifth option (E) and darken its circle.
- Failure to darken any of the five options will result in a 1/3 deduction of marks per unanswered question (negative marking).
- After completing the exam, candidates must hand over the OMR sheet to the examiner, who separates the carbon copy for the candidate.
Objective:
- The introduction of the fifth option aims to enhance transparency in examinations and discourage candidates from randomly selecting options when uncertain about the answer.
- Carbon copies provided to candidates aim to prevent cheating, reduce corruption, and provide a reference for candidates in case of irregularities.
