A group of 250 students hailing from underprivileged backgrounds across most districts of Jammu and Kashmir are embarking on a visit across the country.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with 250 students from Jammu and Kashmir during their ‘Watan Ko Jano’ program in the nation’s capital.

Currently, a group of 250 students hailing from underprivileged backgrounds across various districts in Jammu and Kashmir are on a visit to the country.

Commissioner Secretary of the Social Welfare Department, Sheetal Nanda, initiated a transformative journey by sending 250 carefully chosen children from various districts of Jammu and Kashmir, accompanied by 10 coordinators and caretakers, on a 12-day exploration to Jaipur and New Delhi. This voyage is part of the ‘Watan Ko Jano’ Youth Exchange Programme under the Department of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh Affairs.

The primary goal of this initiative is to offer these young individuals an opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of India’s cultural and social fabric. By exposing them to diverse traditions and lifestyles, the program aims to broaden their horizons and foster a deeper understanding of the country’s multifaceted heritage. It is a significant step toward nurturing a generation that appreciates and respects the diverse cultural nuances that make India a vibrant mosaic of traditions and identities.
