Karnataka State Outlets Rake in ₹18.85 Crore from New Year’s Eve Liquor Sales

On New Year’s Eve, Mysore Sales International Ltd (MSIL) outlets in Karnataka experienced a surge in liquor sales, marking a noteworthy increase of ₹4.34 crore.

On New Year’s Eve, outlets managed by Mysore Sales International Ltd (MSIL), under the governance of Karnataka, recorded an impressive revenue of ₹18.85 crore from liquor sales. Officials noted a significant surge in revenue, witnessing a rise of ₹4.34 crore compared to the previous year’s December 31 sales of ₹14.51 crore.

According to reports from the company, Raichur emerged as the city with the highest liquor consumption, boasting the highest sales across the state. The statement, obtained by news agency PTI, highlighted that a Raichur railway station outlet led in sales with ₹11.66 lakh, followed by another outlet on Gunj Road in the same city, recording sales of ₹9.96 lakh.

Additionally, Bengaluru Urban district displayed significant enthusiasm in ringing in the new year, securing the top position in the district-wise sales chart with ₹1.82 crore. Last year, the district contributed sales worth ₹1.35 crore to the enterprise, marking a noticeable increase.

“The recently launched renovated MSIL Boutique, the first of its kind at Thimmaiah Road in Basaveshawaranagara, saw an impressive spike in sales, reaching ₹3.5 lakh on its opening day, compared to ₹2.59 lakh on the same day last year,” the report stated.

“It was noted that on regular days, liquor sales across MSIL outlets in the state typically amount to approximately ₹8 crore. However, there was a significant surge, hitting a peak of ₹18.85 crore on the eve of the New Year,” it further highlighted.
