On Monday, the Noida Police in Uttar Pradesh announced the apprehension of three suspects linked to the rape of a 26-year-old woman in close proximity to a shopping mall. According to the Noida Police, two additional suspects, one of whom is identified as a local influential figure and the main perpetrator, remain fugitive, as reported by the news agency PTI.

The complainant initially refrained from approaching authorities due to concerns about the accused being influential individuals, described as “dabang” or strong. However, the situation escalated when she faced blackmail and harassment once again, prompting her to seek help from the police on December 30.
A police statement highlighted that the complainant’s statement was recorded following her recent medical examination, adhering to standard procedures. The arrested individuals have appeared in a local court and have been remanded in judicial custody.
Based on the account provided by a 26-year-old victim at Noida Police Station Sector 39 on December 30, 2023, a case involving five accused in a job-related gang rape has been registered. The arrested suspects—Rajkumar, Azad, and Vikas—are from Gautam Buddha Nagar. However, efforts continue to arrest Ravi and Mehmi, who are still evading capture.
