While the late seventies or early eighties saw a fresh coat of paint, minimal alterations occurred after 1989, as confirmed by its current custodian.
In a fortuitous turn of events, the current owner, who had been ardently eyeing this regal relic, finally secured this historic vehicle in 2009 following a decade-long pursuit. Boasting its original engine with the matching number 2478, the car offers an authentic and truly genuine driving experience. The engine, gearbox, and chassis demonstrate their intended functionality once warmed up, providing a driving sensation that resonates with the classic era of the vehicle. A recent overhaul was conducted, during which the brake servo was temporarily disconnected due to a vacuum hose issue.
Backed by a well-documented history and meticulous care, this Volvo 1800S has likely covered just over 17,300 kilometers or approximately 10,750 miles. Bidding for the car is set to commence tomorrow, January 4, with the expected auction price falling between $53,700 and $63,500. The vehicle is currently situated in the municipality of Sandared in Sweden.
