Ayodhya, often referred to as “Rammay,” is adorned with anticipation as it awaits the culmination of 500 years of ‘exile’ for Ram Lalla with the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony. The entire city is immersed in a religious spirit, featuring artworks portraying Lord Ram on flyovers’ streetlights and ornamental lamp posts reflecting traditional “Ramanandi tilak” designs.

After a century of legal battles and three years of construction, Ram Lalla’s idol will return to his “janmabhoomi” at the Ram Temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya on January 22, marking a momentous occasion for India’s civilization and ushering in a new era for the holy city.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend the highly anticipated “Pran Pratistha” ceremony starting at 12:20 pm, expected to conclude by 1 pm. Fourteen couples from various parts of India will act as hosts for the ceremony.

The event will be followed by an address from the PM to a gathering of over 7,000 people, including seers and prominent personalities. The entire ceremony will be broadcast live to a national and international audience. Devotees will have the opportunity to visit the shrine from January 23.

Ayodhya, illuminated for the historic Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony, showcases streetlights adorned with Lord Ram’s depictions and ornamental lamp posts themed on ‘Ramanandi tilak.’ Slogans such as ‘Shubh Ghadi Aayi’ and ‘Ram fir lautenge’ adorn the streets, creating a magical festive atmosphere.

The black stone idol of Ram Lalla, created by sculptor Arun Yogiraj, is arguably the most detailed depiction ever made, featuring all 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu, Lord Hanuman, Lord Garuda, Swastik, Om, Chakra, Gada, Shankh, and Surya Narayan. This idol is a symbol of intricate craftsmanship and spirituality.

As Ayodhya prepares for the “Pran Pratishtha” ceremony, the city is enveloped in religious fervor, with multi-colored flowers, ceremonial gates, and ‘Ram dhun’ playing through loudspeakers. The anticipation and excitement are palpable as Ayodhya marks a historic milestone in India’s cultural and religious heritage.
