This preemptive deployment comes 24 hours ahead of a significant public meeting scheduled by Arambai Tenggol (AT), a village defence group rooted in the valley, within the premises of the Kangla Fort, historically known as the seat of power for the former Manipur kingdom.
Arambai Tenggol (AT) has extended invitations to all Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to attend this public gathering, where leaders are anticipated to articulate their stance on the recent surge of violence in Manipur. The call for this meeting by AT is a direct response to a series of tragic incidents, including the killing of four woodcutters, a village defence volunteer, and two police commandos within the past fortnight, attributed to suspected insurgents.
