The day following the grand opening of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a tremendous surge of devotees flooded the sacred site, braving the chilly winter weather. Approximately 500,000 devotees thronged to the temple, with around 300,000 managing to offer prayers within the temple premises, while an equal number patiently awaited their turn outside, as confirmed by officials.

As dawn broke the next day, visuals depicted a continued influx of devotees gathering outside the temple, highlighting the enduring enthusiasm and reverence for the newly inaugurated religious monument.

Taking cognizance of the overwhelming turnout, the Uttar Pradesh government swiftly dispatched Principal Home Secretary Sanjay Prasad and senior police officer Prashant Kumar to Ayodhya. Prashant Kumar, DG (Law and Order), addressed the situation, stating, “People have gathered here in huge numbers. Principal Home Secretary and I have been sent here. We have improved the queue system for crowd management. We have made channels for the people.”

To ensure the safety and orderly conduct of the massive congregation, approximately 8,000 security personnel from the Uttar Pradesh police, Rapid Action Force (RAF), and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) have been deployed at the temple. Eight magistrates have been strategically assigned to oversee different areas within the temple complex.

Praveen Kumar, Inspector-General of Police in Ayodhya, issued a plea to the devotees, urging them not to rush and suggesting that they plan their visits after a span of two weeks. He emphasized, “The crowd is nonstop but preparations are complete. We appeal to the old and Divyang people to schedule their visit after two weeks. I want to appeal to the people that there’s no need to hurry for Darshan. The temple will be opened for everyone with better preparations.” This appeal underscores the authorities’ commitment to ensuring a smooth and secure pilgrimage experience for all visitors to the revered Ram Temple.
