Hero recently introduced its latest commuter model, the Xtreme 125R, in the Indian market, presenting it in two distinct variants. The IBS iteration is available at a price of Rs 95,000, while the ABS variant comes with a slightly higher price tag of Rs 99,500, as per the ex-showroom rates. To begin with, the Hero Xtreme 125R takes an aggressive approach to its styling and looks different from most motorcycles in its segment. It gets the low-set full-LED headlamp unit, brawny fuel tank and a split-seat setup to add sportiness.
It being offered in a choice of three colours- Firestorm Red, Cobalt Blue, Stallion Black
Presently, the motorcycle is equipped with a 125cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This mechanism produces 11.5bhp and nearly 11Nm of torque, transmitting power to the rear wheel through a five-speed gearbox. Hero asserts the Xtreme 125R achieves the utmost fuel efficiency; however, the confirmation will only emerge after our real-world testing.
As for hardware, the Hero Xtreme 125R rides on 37mm telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock for the rear end. Meanwhile, braking is done with a 276mm disc at the front as standard whereas the rear has the option of a drum or disc.
The features list includes full-LED lighting for the headlamp, turn signals and tail lamp. Then there is the LCD screen with gear position and Bluetooth connectivity for call and message alerts as well a hazard light switch. Hero is also offering the option of a single-channel ABS and IBS, which is essentially a combined braking system.
