Punjab government promotes eight IAS officers

Five officers from the 1994 batch, namely Vikas Pratap, Alok Shekhar, Dhirendra Kumar Tiwari, JM Balamurugan, and Tejveer Singh, have been elevated to the position of additional chief secretaries by an order issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Verma. Additionally, the Punjab government announced the promotion of three officers from the 1999 batch of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) on Sunday.

An order issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Verma has announced the promotion of officers from the 1994 batch to the designation of additional chief secretaries. The officers elevated to this role include Vikas Pratap, Alok Shekhar, Dhirendra Kumar Tiwari, JM Balamurugan, and Tejveer Singh.

In a recent development, Bhawna Garg, Nilkanth S Avhad, and Ajoy Sharma, all belonging to the 1999 batch of IAS officers, have been appointed as principal secretaries starting January 1, 2024. Notably, Shekhar and Garg, currently on central promotion, have received proforma promotions in recognition of their roles.
