Fans of Mr. Bean will be delighted to learn that according to Variety, the beloved character will return in 2025 with the fourth season of “Mr. Bean: The Animated Series.
Season 4, featuring the distinctive voice of Rowan Atkinson, is set to encompass an impressive 52 episodes, each running for 11 minutes. This new installment will contribute to a grand total of 182 episodes across all series. Viewers can catch the show on Cartoonito and HBO Max throughout Europe, the Middle East, and Africa via Warner Bros. Discovery’s kids channels and streaming platforms in Southeast Asia and South Asia. Additionally, it’s scheduled to premiere on ITVX Kids in the UK and Ireland in 2025, coinciding with the 35th anniversary of the inaugural live-action episode.
The animated series tracks the escapades of Mr. Bean and his trusty sidekick, Teddy, as they dive into a string of escapades, causing their fair share of mischief along the way.
Heading the series, Dave Osborne takes the directorial reins, while Arnold Widdowson assumes the role of producer. Ciaran Murtagh and Andrew Barnett Jones helm as the head writers.
A quintessential figure in British culture, the original live-action Mr. Bean, co-crafted by Atkinson and Richard Curtis, debuted in 1990. Atkinson lends his voice to the animated counterpart, which premiered in 2002. It’s been aired in 195 territories, maintaining continuous distribution for over three decades.
Eager about the upcoming fourth season, Atkinson expressed, “I’ve always relished this version of the Mr. Bean persona and the unique liberties it allows in animated form. We can whisk him off to space or into a mine without me personally facing the fallout. The creative aspects of animation are endlessly captivating, and I’m enthusiastically anticipating diving into the new series.”
